Another Day Of Shopping At The Mall
We got in the car and headed for the local mall. I was thinking of buying a cordless handheld vacuum if a good one was on sale. My shopping buddy had one that I liked. I asked her where she got it. She had been looking for a suitable gift for her uncle and saw the vacuum on sale at the hardware store. Nothing is better than getting a leading brand name product on sale. So she bought it.
I told her about how long I’d been wanting one of those. I had carpeted stairs and it was really hard to use the large vacuum on them. The handheld vacuums are great for stairs she told me. The kids can clean up their own little messes with it and seem to like doing it.
I told her about the day Cindy spilled all her beads on the bedroom floor. She scooped up the majority of them, but was still stepping on some in her bare feet. She tried the broom but it didn’t work on the carpet. I did finally get out the vacuum and go over her room. She’s still too little to push a large vacuum herself I told her.
We went into a store with a huge selection of bedding quilts. I’d been planning to give my bedroom a new look. I wanted to paint sage green and would need a quilt to match. I saw one I’d keep in mind. Maybe it would go on sale soon. I picked up a few bed pillows that were on sale.
We went over to the jewelry department as was our custom. We loved to look at all the earrings. Some looked so delicate, especially the new chandelier styles. I was unable to wear them because I thought my neck was too short. Even though they were popular, I had to pass them up.
My friend bought a bracelet with three rows of pretty crystal beads. It was lovely considering how inexpensive it was. I liked it too but didn’t want to buy the same one. I’d buy a similar one another day. There was always new jewelry being displayed.
Handbags, scarves wallets, we looked at all of them. In the shoe department we laughed about the stiletto heels. We decided the movie stars were welcome to wear them and possibly break a leg doing so. It’s like walking around on two ladders. Why take a chance on falling?
We circled the jewelry counter once more before heading for home. There were some good looking wedding bands for men. I thought of it because our mutual friend Scott was getting married next month. We agreed the plain gold bands were the ones we liked the most. Wondering if that was what Scott would choose, we left the store to walk over to the food court for lunch.
