Christmas can be a difficult period, especially if you’re not sure what to buy for the people close to you. Dad is often one of the most difficult to buy gifts for, particularly if you don’t want to go for the predictable pair of socks. So to help you with some gifts for him this Christmas, here are a couple of quick suggestions

A nice bottle of your dad’s favourite tipple will usually go down well, but don’t just opt for the cheapest brand bottle from the local off license. Spend the time looking around online or in specialist shops, find a nice, old bottle of their favourite drink that’s nicely presented. Not only is your dad sure to notice the extra amount of effort you’ve taken, he’s sure to keep the bottle to savour, meaning he’ll remember the sentiment for a while to come.

You shouldn’t underestimate how good personalised gifts can be, as long as you don’t go for anything to cheap or obvious. Stay away from the World’s Best Dad mugs and the like, but there’s no reason you can’t get a canvas print of his favourite photograph or something similar. It really demonstrates an extra level of thought and effort and is a much better idea than just buying something obvious.

Most dads love gadgets, so something that makes their life easier will probably go down well. If you’ve got the money, a big screen projecter for him to enjoy the football is certain to be a good choice. If you’re looking for something a little cheaper, try a USB cup warmer or something equally as useful and gadgety. Anything that will help him with the process of tea-drinking will put a smile on most dads’ faces!

Hopefully with those suggestions you’ll have a few ideas to get your dad something he actually likes this Christmas.
