The winter holidays are right around the corner, so it’s a good idea to start planning now. That’s especially true if you have a big family, or a lot of friends and/or clients to buy for. It’s also important if you’re like me and have a significant other who’s picky. Over the years I discovered that Italian gift baskets do the trick for him. He gets an assortment of things he likes and I get to give a nice-looking gift that’s affordable. And I don’t even have to leave the house to get it, so we’re both happy. As a result, I’m now a real fan of gift baskets. The people in my life have come to expect them from me whenever I give them a present. And they tell me they really like them, so that lets me know I’m on the right track.

The good thing about gift baskets is that there are so many “flavors”. When I want to welcome people to their new homes, I normally order gourmet foods gift baskets. Those also work well as elegant thank you gifts or when someone has finished remodeling a home. Still, there are occasions when I’m not really sure what to give, so I just do a search by gender. Entering the search term for “gift baskets for her” or the opposite usually produces a large selection of varied baskets that range from items that appeal to Baby Boomers to wine to desserts. So something usually pops up that I haven’t seen before.

My only issue with looking for gift baskets online is that normally I can’t get away from the site without buying something for myself! But I’ve made some great purchases that way. As a matter of fact, My friends and I are still drinking some South American wines I bought in a gift basket last month. As I write this I realized I should finish those bottles soon. I’m going to start my holiday shopping soon and I’ll be I will be buying more for myself!
